Red Racer JunkYard Cross CX Race 2026 - RESULTS
Well we certainly got our wish for great weather for this years Central City Brewers & Distillers, Red Racer JunkYard Cross! What gorgeous weather we had! Hosting the JunkYard cross 2 weeks earlier than our traditional date near the end of October made for a very fast course sans any mud, lifted the spirits of the riders and race setup team, and made for a packed beer garden!
The slightly shorter course still included all the elements from 2025 but helped the timing crew at Wimsey and sped up the setup on Saturday. The course was very fast with no mud to bog riders down. This years format of the first race starting at 10am with a total of 4 races over the day made for a much easier race to manage.
The kids mini course along with the new category of Party Lap added a really fun element to the day and no doubt the sunny weather cheered up the entire event.
SPECIAL THANK YOU to Central City Brewers and Distillers, who have sponsored the Red Racer JunkYard Cross again for 11 years running. They have been instrumental to our success as they have provided the beverage, tents and banners for the beer garden as well as event title sponsorship. Each podium winner of age received a pack of Red Racer beer along with their medals. THANK YOU!
Swag was plentiful again this year with each racer placing a ticket in the prize draw box, drawn at each of the 2 podium ceremonies. Thank you to Easton Cycling, BC Bike Race, The Bike Zone, Nitro Lube and Crank It Sports for their excellent swag prize contributions. Double R Rentals again provided the fencing, towers, tables, tents and chairs. Physiomoves Physiotherapy provided first aid support. Drew Nelson again provided the excellent sound system utilized by our 3-pack team of excellent MC’s - Eric Harvey, Josh Weiss and Dale Tiessen. THANK YOU ALL, and the hard work of the SORCE Team and volunteers.
